On Dogma

No other force than dogmatic authority has ever convinced any otherwise-rational person — and successfully so — that he must submit readily, on an inadequacy of evidence, to the attractive idea that two-thirds of the world’s population will be spending an eternity in torturous hellfire whilst he himself be awarded beautiful virgins or other pleasures, much less to preach of this idea to children as a universal fact, or to claim it divinely authentic, inoffensive and/or immune from infidelic criticism.
